We had too much programming and too little attendance. I have seen the correlation between too many events and a drop in participation, maybe it's because it doesn't feel special. For us, it's time together and it's time together as a whole-group. Plus, it's time together doing/being/living Body-life together - experience plus history, I suppose. For us, it’s time together and it’s time together as a whole-group. Plus, it’s time together doing/being/living Body-life together – experience plus history, I suppose.

But I’m with y’all – too expensive.

Instead we did a camping trip with a bunch of students and families. Most of the students had never been camping before and that made it a special trip. We grew closer as a ministry, saved kids money, and experienced God's creation up close. It was a winner. I heard Doug Fields reference the After Party but he never gave any details, so I was thrilled to hear you talk about it in detail. We're going to do ours once a month, send out After Party Cards to guests, have a rope across our door, etc., give it that club feel. We're going to try Hawaiian for our first theme.
