That's true if you live in or around Dallas/California/Atlanta/Chicago/Phoenix or near some uber-mega church like Granger Community Church. But not so true if you live in the great city of El Paso, Texas, as I do. It's a shame when the reaction to poor giving is to cut training and encouraging staff. In my mind, that just doesn't make sense! It seems like when giving is down churches should see this as a great time to re-focus and continue training their staffs. I agree with your money saving tips too. The grocery thing will save you megacash right there. I like to get buddied up with 6-7 people, share a couple rooms, run to the store... ends up saving us all big bucks. Couldn’t agree more. But this sort of thing can be pulled off in local areas too...which is what I'm experimenting with this year & so far it seems like we're going to have a great group gathering in April in Ohio for a few days together.
